The Paediatric First Aid course is primarily aimed at those working in childcare settings, but it will be useful for anyone with responsibility for caring for infants and children.
This blended Paediatric First Aid qualification is for those who work in a childcare setting as it is been specifically designed to meet the paediatric first aid requirements in the statutory framework for the early year’s foundation stage. This qualification provides learners with the opportunity to develop the skills and knowledge needed to deal with a range of paediatric first aid situations, illnesses, injuries and emergencies which can arise when looking after children.
The blended Paediatric First Aid course consists of 2 steps and is to be completed in the order detailed below.
- Step 1 involves completing an interactive eLearning course. Learners will receive a link to access the eLearning when the course is booked. In addition to the eLearning, learners will also be given access to view video content to further support their learning. Access to the video content is available for 3 years, therefore handy as a learning tool for the EYFS recommended annual refresher training. The time spent completing the eLearning and Video content is a minimum of 6 hours.
- Step 2 is a one day or two evening face to face course where you will learn and demonstrate all the practical sections of the course.
The blended approach to first aid training is generally aimed at learners who are requalifying their Paediatric First Aid qualification for example learners who have previously completed the full 12-hour face-to-face qualification. Learners can do this approach for the first time however it is our recommendation that first-timers do the full hours face-to-face.
