Every term the Solihull Early Years Team hosts an Early Years leads network meeting where key themes can be discussed in more detail.  This year we have been asked to extend this by allowing an hour at the end of the meeting for leaders to continue to get together for professional reflection.

The first 2 hours in the core meeting builds on the Leaders and Managers Briefings which can be found here – https://www.solgrid.org.uk/eyc/training/leaders-and-managers-briefings/. We hope that school leads have watched the briefing and come prepared to share their experiences with others. The Early Years Team may invite schools, or those working in early years, to share information in more detail. This helps us reflect upon practice and learn from those who working in the borough.

The meetings have been especially useful for experienced EYFS leads to bring celebrations and questions to share with others. New EYFS leads also find the chance to meet up with those in the same role very helpful to improve their knowledge of EYFS practice and supportive to their well-being and leadership skills.
