Solihull and District Club of Soroptimist International is working with Andrew Greenall and Jarrod Reynolds on a schools' baking competition linked to fair trade. Junior Schools will bake cup cakes and decorate them, with secondary schools baking and decorating celebration cakes, using as many fair trade ingredients as possible. Schools will hold their own competitions, with the winners from each school entering the Cake Off on 24th February where the winning overall Borough Schools in each category will be judged. This is the first time Solihull and District Club of Soroptimist International have organised this event, and hope that this will grow over the years with more schools participating. This will not only teach the children to bake, but also learn more about fair trade. It will, of course, help the Borough maintain its fair trade status.
Please find attached information/flyer with regard to the Public Speaking competition organised by Solihull and District Club of Soroptimist International.
Should you need any additional information, please do not hesitate to contact Ann Keepax (annkeepax@yahoo.co.uk). All Secondary schools in the Borough have been sent a full pack containing all the information, forms, etc.
