| Following the information issued previously, the supply issue affecting EpiPen and EpiPen Junior is expected to continue for the remainder of 2018.
The guidance from children’s allergy experts outlined in the DfE’s previous email is now subject to the following updates: · During this period of reduced supply, 300mcg of adrenaline can be prescribed to children weighing 25kg or above, even where the pen might state 30kg or above; and · In the event of anaphylaxis during this shortage period, if a child has no in-date pen, an out-of-date pen can be used. Using an out-of-date pen might give a lower dose of adrenaline but it is better to use an out-of-date pen than wait for an ambulance to arrive. Schools should note the guidance in the letter (also attached below) from NHS allergy experts, which is being issued by GPs to those affected and includes the updated advice. |
Enthuse partnerships works with groups of 4-8 schools and colleges to develop a bespoke 2-year action plan which includes teacher CPD and free resources. Each partnership receives £10,000 per year over 2 years (£20,000 total).
The focus of the project should be STEM related and each partnership will be supported by a STEM coach.
This is a great opportunty for Solihull schools to work together to develop areas of maths, science, computing and engineering. Enthuse partnerships have worked with groups of schools focusing on, for example, improving engagement in mathematics for passive girls and are currently keen to work with groups of schools wishing to develop an interleaving, connected curriulum.

‘England Talent Day’ is taking place on Sunday 25th March at Blue Coat School in Coventry. This is an opportunity for players aged 7-11 and 12-16 with the following disabilities: amputee, cerebral palsy, deaf or partially sighted to find a football team.
