Setting Support
Our ‘Setting Support’ offers bespoke, face-to-face training and guidance to help early years settings strengthen their SEND provision. Support can be tailored to meet your individual needs and may include helping staff implement key strategies to support children with SEND, advice relating to a specific area of need, support within a particular room or environment, or training on a chosen SEND topic.
Your Area SENCo will meet with key staff members to discuss the type of support or training required and work with you to identify the most appropriate approach. Where appropriate, a member of the Inclusion Support Programme (ISP) team may also be involved, providing modelling, coaching and practical support alongside setting staff.
How to Request Setting Support
To request Setting Support for your setting, please contact the Early Years Team SEND Lead, Jane Glassey, who will discuss your requirements and help identify the most appropriate support for your staff and children.
Email: j.glassey@solihull.gov.uk
Once your request has been received, your Area SENCo will be in contact with you to explore your setting’s needs and arrange tailored support, training, coaching, or guidance as appropriate.
