Health and safety

Recent alerts about the safety of baby self- feeding pillows has reminded us of the need for us to sign up for child accident prevention trust (CAPT) alerts.

Strep A – Scarlet Fever

The latest data from the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) shows that scarlet fever cases continue to remain higher than we would typically see at this time of year. Scarlet fever is usually a mild illness, but it is highly infectious. There is additional guidance attached.

Useful resources to support communication and language.

In the following report (shadows below) you will see that communication and language is an area that children need further support. IPPR, the Institute for Public Policy Research, has also recently published Delivering a Childcare Guarantee with a recommendation that investing in the best start for children will support the narrowing of developmental gaps, such as communication skills. The pandemic and its impacts are not over. It is having a lasting effect on many babies’ and children’s wellbeing and development, and on the ability of services to meet their needs.
