New to EYFS: Part 1 & 2

Audience: Practitioners new to EYFS, new to EYFS in Solihull or senior leaders wanting to know more about EYFS. Cost: Free

This training is run across two sessions

  • Session 1: Wednesday 24th September 2025 
  • Session2: Wednesday 8th October 2025

Time: 9:15-11:45am

Content: Across the two sessions we will consider:

  • Session 1: Explore the EYFS statutory framework and best practice guidance documents. Content of the session will include discussion around:
    • Curriculum
    • Pedagogy
    • Assessment
    • Routines
    • Environment
    • Working with parents
    • The opportunity to ask questions and discuss practice with other early years practitioners
  • Session 2: Will be decided after part 1 with attendees steering their priorities for content. This session may include further, more detailed discussion, about the contents which are bullet pointed above. Previous session requests have been in relation to setting up the indoor and outdoor environments, ensuring the needs of all children are met, bringing examples of planning to share within the group. The group will decide what are the priorities for the more detailed discussion in session 2.
