We will explore assessment in EYFS and also suggest guidance which you may find useful to support children where you need to plan for smaller steps of learning.

Early Years Educator qualifications review of criteria consultation

DfE are consulting on a revised criteria for the early years educator level 3 qualification. The qualification criteria were last updated in 2014. NCFE, an education charity and leader in vocational learning, conducted the review of the early years educator level 3 qualification and criteria over the summer, and DfE are now consulting on their recommendations for improvements.  Please review the suggested criteria and let DfE know your views. The consultation closes on Monday 23 January 2023.

Book ownership in 2022 | National Literacy Trust

Book ownership and access to books at home can influence a variety of life outcomes, from educational attainment to income in adulthood. NLT found that children and young people who said that they have a book of their own at home were not only more engaged with reading but also six times more likely to read above the level expected for their age (22% vs. 3.6%) compared with their peers who told us that they didn’t have their own book. In 2022, nearly 1 in 10 (9.7%) children and young people who received free school meals (FSMs) said that they did not have a book of their own at home compared with 1 in 17 (5.8%) of those who do not receive FSMs.

Have a look at the book recommendations from CLPE click here if you are looking for gifts for young children.
