National Campaign from Better Health Start for Life- Little Moments Together

On 15th January 2024 Better Health Start for Life and the Department for Education will launch a new home learning environment campaign ‘Little Moments Together‘. The campaign will aim to improve children’s language and communication skills and ultimately increase levels of school readiness in reception aged children. Building on the successes and learnings of the Chat, Play, Read campaign it is hoped this will inform, motivate and empower parents to improve the quality of the home learning environment for their children.

Solihull local guidance

Solihull EYIF report now available- https://www.solgrid.org.uk/eyc/eef/inclusion-fund/

December 2023 was again a large panel of applications. We really appreciate the time panel members find to pre-read applications and to share their views for a truly group decision on panel applications. Don’t forget to include 2 reviewed plans for a level 2 application [2-4 y/o] and 1 reviewed plan for level 1 [3- and 4-year-olds]

The EYIF flowchart is a useful summary and checklist, so that you don’t take time completing a referral for a child who is not age eligible or forget to include key evidence.

Updated Solgrid/eyc webpages https://www.solgrid.org.uk/eyc/resources/safeguarding-and-welfare/

Don’t forget the recorded briefings on the Solihull solgrid/eyc website. We expect new Dingley’s Promise training modules will also be available soon. Please finish any current training by completing the quiz, evaluation and downloading your certificate to register you have completed the module.

Enjoy your week – On Monday I had a lovely opportunity to explore puddles, mud and the joy young children have when they can explore outside in the rain. All you need are waterproof clothes and boots and the opportunity. https://ltl.org.uk/news/myth-busting-bad-weather-outdoor-learning/   😊 Enjoy.
