Family Hub recorded event

The recording of the Family Hubs session as well as the PowerPoint slides can be found on the Council website here: www.solihull.gov.uk/children-and-family-support/family-hubs

The Early Years Advice and Support page is now live on the Local Offer.

We are delighted to share our support page for families with young children and settings.

We have built the guidance page by referring to the most asked for and perhaps most useful links. We hope to ask some of the families that we are working with whether the guidance is what they want. We would be very grateful if you could share your views.

This week, we celebrate #ChildcareWeek2023. Congratulations to all the practitioners working in #earlyyears supporting children across the UK @APPGearlyyears

Thank you for all that you do

The APPG for Childcare and Early Education brings together Parliamentarians and leading members for the childcare and early education sector to promote and facilitate discussion on key policy issues.

This year, the theme of the week is Fund the Early Years, Fund their Future.  Early years are a vital part of a child’s education, developing the cognitive, social, and emotional skills that set them up for life. Evidence shows that high-quality childcare supports children’s development, prepares children for school and, of course, allows parents to balance work and family life.

As we know, good early years education is vital to supporting young people developmentally. Ofsted has identified children aged 2-3 as needing a particular focus on speech and language to build necessary communication skills for later in life.  Investment early in a child’s life pays dividends later on, but the impact upon a child’s future is priceless.
