Safeguarding – Neglect and Sexual Abuse
July 1, 2025
Over the past year, several of our Early Years settings have participated in safeguarding audits with the Solihull Safeguarding Children Partnership (SSCP). The latest neglect-themed Learning from Multi-Agency Audits offers valuable insights for improving our practices around neglect. These recommendations can serve as useful training material and provide essential information to help you and your practitioners better understand and address neglect.

Sexual Abuse Response Pathway
The Centre of Expertise on Child Sexual Abuse Response Pathway sets out how to respond to concerns of child sexual abuse at key points: from first concerns and early help, safeguarding through to child protection and criminal justice responses. Throughout, it focuses on meeting the needs of children and their families. The pathway is part of the West Midlands multi-agency procedures and should be referred to for all types of sexual abuse, including sexual exploitation and for those who may have sexually harmed. There have been a range of webinars taking place since February 2025, if you missed booking onto them, or want to revisit them, recordings are available at here.
