Many children with SEND struggle to learn to read and the considerable attainment gap in reading for children with SEND increases across the key stages.

The HERiSS project will evaluate the effects of a computer-based early reading programme on reading skills for children with special educational needs and disabilities in special schools.

This is the first special school project funded by the Educational Endowment Foundation (EEF).

Over the last few years, the Council and its partners have commemorated Holocaust Memorial Day by holding a service in Solihull. The service has developed year on year. The aim is for Holocaust Memorial Day to continue in 2018, involving Solihull’s schools and colleges.

Solihull’s annual commemorative service marking Holocaust Memorial Day will take place on Thursday 24th January 2019.  Please see the attached letter for further information.
