On Wednesday 25 September 2019, Solihull School will host a CPD day for colleagues nationwide on Tackling Prejudice and Discrimination in the Digital Age: What Can Schools Do? and they would like to invite you colleagues from your school to join us for a unique event centred around the extraordinary life story of Eva Schloss.

Eva will join you for a Q&A after a performance of And Then They Came for Me, a critically acclaimed play about her remarkable family history and an exhibition, The Promise, about the artistic talents her brother Heinz cultivated whilst hiding from the Nazis for two years. It is the first time the play and the exhibition will be shown together.

Furthermore, the day will also involve a series of prominent speakers and organisations who will cover a wide range of relevant topics, whilst providing practical advice and measures for teachers interested in developing such initiatives in their own schools. Further information about the programme can be found in the attached flyer.

Places on the Wednesday CPD event on 25 September 2019 can be booked at a subsidised rate of £95 via the TryBooking link here:

The QA Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF) qualification is specifically designed for individuals who wish to act as a first aider in their workplace.

Attendees will learn how to manage a range of injuries and illnesses that could occur at work and will be equipped with the essential skills needed to give emergency first aid.

What’s more, as a regulated qualification, employers can book this course for their employees and rest assured that they have fulfilled their legal responsibilities for providing quality first aid training, without having to undertake any lengthy due diligence checks introduced in the recent HSE changes. Please see flier attached below for full details.

Solihull Moors Football Club will be running the FA Primary Teachers’ Award (PTA) FREE of charge after half term. The course is aimed at qualified teachers including those that are newly qualified. This programme is run by the maths Hubs and consists of a blend of collaborative training and bespoke support, aimed at giving your school an introduction to the ‘Big Ideas’ around teaching for mastery and preparing you for future programmes.

The support within the programme will be spread over the academic year, when you will be part of half-termly group workshops with up to six other schools, as well as receiving half-termly school visits bespoke to your needs.  There is no charge for the workshops or the visits from the Mastery Readiness Lead. The programme will involve your maths lead and another teacher and will need to be supported by the headteacher.

There are are currently seven places available for a group of interested Solihull schools (on a first come, first served basis) for support starting this year. If you would like further information or details of how to register for this programme, please contact Donna Wright (dowright@solihull.gov.uk) before end of September 2019.
