Are you 14 or over? Do you want to gain experience, develop skills working with children, discover more about working in libraries or help encourage children to read?

Solihull Libraries, Arts and Information are looking for volunteers to work across the whole of Solihull for ‘Mischief Makers’, the Reading Agency Summer Reading Challenge 2018 between 14 July – 8 September, with training provided. K2 Development are working with a number of schools across the West Midlands to support them with accessing and using their apprenticeship levy.  Our apprenticeships include Team Leadership at Level 3 (12 months) and Operational Management at level 5 (24 months) and focus on developing leadership potential in our schools.  The courses are aimed at potential or existing school leaders and are available for both teaching and support staff. The PSHE Association have recently been involved in the development of the new UKCCIS (UK Council for Child Internet Safety) framework, alongside online safety experts including CEOP, the NSPCC and Barnardo’s. The Education for a Connected World framework will help PSHE teachers review their curriculum to ensure pupils are prepared to understand and handle online risks.

Childnet International has launched a film competition for children and young people aged 7-18 to share their understanding of online safety issues. The competition is open to UK primary and secondary schools and youth organisations. The closing date is 11 June 2018.
