September 20, 2018

<![CDATA[

The World Health Organisation recognises World Mental Health Day on 10 October every year.

The day provides an opportunity “for all stakeholders working on mental health issues to talk about their work, and what more needs to be done to make mental health care a reality for people worldwide”. This year’s theme set by the World Federation for Mental Health is young people and mental health in a changing world. For more, information please see the Mental Health Foundation website.

Young Minds have a range of resources for schools to order and download including lesson plans for primary and secondary.

The Anna Freud website has a Talking Mental Health animation and teacher toolkit with year 5 and 6 pupils. It can be downloaded and used to teach the lesson or assembly on World Mental Health Day (10th October).

You can also access the Mentally Healthy Schools website which the Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families has worked on alongside Heads Together partner charities for a range of quality-assured information, advice and resources.]]>
