If you haven’t already done so, please book your free place at the Deputy Heads’ Conference at Ardencote Hotel. The deadline for replies has been extended to Wednesday 26th September 2018. One place is available for each school at no cost – for those schools wishing to send more than one delegate, the rate for each additional person is £50.

You are invited to a workshop to learn more about the troubled families programme – including the criteria for a family to be eligible, the benefits of working in a ‘troubled families’ way for both families and professionals, and how we can capture all of the great work taking place.

The workshops will take place on:

  • Monday 24 June, 10am at The Loft, 2nd Floor, West Mall, Chelmsley Wood Shopping Centre, B37 5TN
  • Friday 5 July, 10am at Sans Souci, Tanworth Lane, Shirley, B90 4DD

Please book onto one of the sessions as soon as possible by emailing troubledfamilies@solihull.gov.uk

Kooth is an online counselling and emotional well-being support service for children and young people. Kooth is a completely safe and an anonymous website where young people can go to gain advice, support and guidance from our BACP qualified counsellors, up to 10pm, 365 days a year.

Our experienced counsellors, moderated message forums and magazine can offer emotional support to young people with a wide range of issues, from having a bad day or falling out with their friends, to more serious issues such as bullying, stress, anxiety, depression, family relationships, sexuality, eating disorders, self-harm, abuse etc. We can also support young people who are on the waiting list for CAMHS or those who do not meet their criteria.

For year 6 students who will soon be transitioning to secondary schools it may be an exciting time but may also cause anxiety and stress in others. Kooth has supported many year 6 students at this stage by discussing Kooth’s services and how it can provide additional support and guidance should they wish. Kooth can also support vulnerable young people who may experience isolation or low self-esteem and help build their resilience for the big changes ahead.

If you would like to have a discussion or arrange for a short presentation to be delivered to your students please contact Jas Hothi, jhothi@xenzone.com or call 07949 819503.
