F.A.O. Headteacher, Head of English and Literacy Co-ordinator
Dear teacher,
Hopefully, since I last wrote to you, your students have had a chance to begin creating their poems to enter into Lichfield Cathedral’s poetry competition The Word. But I do understand that the end of term is a busy period for teachers and students alike, so don’t worry if you’ve not had a chance yet. There is still time: the deadline for entries is the 3 October 19, National Poetry Day.
As you prepare for the next academic year, perhaps you could think about including this into your lesson planning – it would be a great way to start the new term and to engage your students in poetry.
