Annual subscriptions to The Key are due for renewal from 1 April 2018. This is a further reminder to schools that have not yet confirmed their requirements to respond to schoolsforum@solihull.gov.uk by 28 February 2018. A favourable rate has been negotiated and, as per last year, payment will be arranged as part of the SMBC Single Accountancy invoice to schools. Please see link below for further information.

The makers of BBC2’s hit series Back in Time for Tea are seeking West Midlands pupils and teachers for their next exciting time travelling adventure – Back in Time for School. They will be filming in the area during the summer holidays this year, living for real the school lessons, uniforms, trips and dinners of yesteryear. Childnet International has launched a film competition for children and young people aged 7-18 to share their understanding of online safety issues. The competition is open to UK primary and secondary schools and youth organisations. The closing date is 11 June 2018.

The PSHE Association have recently been involved in the development of the new UKCCIS (UK Council for Child Internet Safety) framework, alongside online safety experts including CEOP, the NSPCC and Barnardo’s. The Education for a Connected World framework will help PSHE teachers review their curriculum to ensure pupils are prepared to understand and handle online risks.
