During November a range of domestic abuse awareness material has been sent out to schools across the borough. This is part of Solihull’s approach to raising awareness and promoting an early intervention. It will be appreciated if these can be displayed in a public area and thank you for your help.

DSL conference days – autumn 2019 (all schools)

The annual DSL conference days (8.30 am - 4 pm) are to be held at Sans Souci on Monday 30 September 2019, Monday 7 October 2019, and at Grace Academy on Thursday 24 October 2019.

The annual governor safeguarding conference is at Solihull School on Wednesday 9 October 2019 at 6.30 pm.

Dyspraxia Foundation West Midlands – training for TAs, teachers and other professionals working in schools.

The Dyspraxia Foundation West Midlands is running a course for teachers, TAs and other professionals working in schools on Monday 7 October 2019, 7-9pm at the Renewal Family Centre in Solihull. The evening will feature talks from:

Sally Payne, Occupational Therapist and Trustee of the Foundation
Jo Shilton and Jo Walker from the Specialist Inclusion and Support Service (SISS) in Solihull
Lorraine Mattocks, Parent Advisor to the Dyspraxia Foundation West Midlands team and parent of a son with dyspraxia.

There will also be contributions from Tim Trivizas and Imogen Rowe, Youth Champions of the Dyspraxia Foundation.

Refreshments will be provided and there will be an opportunity to ask questions and to meet other professionals working in education.

Tickets cost £7 for members and £15 for non-members. Please email Helen or Imogen Rowe on wmdyspraxia@gmail.com for more details or to reserve a place.
