You may have seen a recent commentary by HMCI Amanda Spielman on the curriculum. For the past year, Ofsted have been carrying out a curriculum review, and this is the second commentary to emerge from that work.

Ofsted report that findings so far have shown that there is some excellent thinking and practice in the system. But all too often there are gaps in the way schools think through the curriculum they intend their pupils to receive, and how they then ensure that this is implemented successfully and has a positive impact.

These findings have fed into recent Ofsted inspector training, challenging thinking about the curriculum, progress, memory, knowledge and skills. Serving practitioner inspectors have said that they found this useful and thought-provoking. Ofsted are therefore keen to extend the offer of sharing this with all those that lead curricular thinking in schools.

This three-hour workshop aims to provide attendees with a deeper understanding of the positive elements that go into developing a rich curriculum.

If you are interested in attending this event, please register your place below.

Space are available on a first-come-first-serve basis. If you already act as an Ofsted Inspector you are advised not to attend this event, as you will have already received a similar version of this workshop at the recent Ofsted conferences. If you are unable to attend this event in person, you are welcome to register one representative from your school instead.
