Target Audience: KS1 and Lower KS2 Teachers

Charge: £150 per person - including a light lunch

Course Content: This one day course will develop an understanding of how early reading develops, including how to teach and apply phonics to ensure progress in reading and writing. Teachers will deepen their subject knowledge in teaching the basic and complex phonic codes and will learn how to support children to use and apply phonic knowledge as part of a rich reading curriculum, leading them to reading fluency. They will explore the continuum of development through the CLPE Reading scales and consider how to provide a range of strategies and resources to ensure progress for all.

University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust, which runs Solihull and Heartlands hospitals, is asking all schools to pass on an important message to parents about where to take their children in the event of an accident. Attached below is a brief letter to headteachers, a letter to send to parents and a poster which can be put up at school.
