Free seasonal flu vaccinations are now available for all council staff, in particular frontline staff who are in regular, direct contact with the public and service users. Having a flu jab is safe and helps protect you from serious illness as well as helping us protect the most vulnerable people that we support.

There is a limit on the number of vouchers available so please only order a voucher if you will definitely use it. Staff eligible to receive a free vaccination from their GP should use that service rather than the staff scheme.

Please use these links below to apply for a vaccination voucher either individually or for a group of up to ten colleagues. To avoid delays please check that all data is entered correctly. You can choose to receive an email or SMS text to take to a Boots pharmacy.

Employees who do not have email or SMS access, or are unable to ask a colleague to print off the voucher for them, should telephone the contact centre on 0121 704 6000.

Vouchers are valid until 31 December 2019.

The course looks at brain development, play, styles of parenting, sleep, temper tantrums, communication and more and is based on the nationally and internationally acclaimed face to face course offered by the Solihull Approach. We have an unlimited multi-user license for as many parents and carers as possible to access these courses completely free of charge. We would be delighted if schools/education providers could promote these courses through their newsletters, emails, web pages etc..

This programme is run by the maths Hubs and consists of a blend of collaborative training and bespoke support, aimed at giving your school an introduction to the ‘Big Ideas’ around teaching for mastery and preparing you for future programmes.

The support within the programme will be spread over the academic year, when you will be part of half-termly group workshops with up to six other schools, as well as receiving half-termly school visits bespoke to your needs.  There is no charge for the workshops or the visits from the Mastery Readiness Lead. The programme will involve your maths lead and another teacher and will need to be supported by the headteacher.

There are are currently seven places available for a group of interested Solihull schools (on a first come, first served basis) for support starting this year. If you would like further information or details of how to register for this programme, please contact Donna Wright (dowright@solihull.gov.uk) before end of September 2019.

The Bank of England has just launched econoME, a free PSHE education resource for students aged 11 to 16 for teaching about economic wellbeing and the economy. The lessons aim to give young people greater economic awareness and the analytical skills to make informed decisions, using real-world examples. For more information, please follow the link below.
