Challenging Religious Issues –
Journal for A-Level Students
Latest issue!

Challenging Religious Issues is designed to bring recent and relevant scholarship and research from the University into the A-level classroom. Three issues are published each year, and each issue contains four original articles, with accompanying questions for discussion and a glossary of key terms. The journal is being published through a three-year partnership between the St Mary’s Centre and St Peter’s Saltley Trust.

The latest edition features articles by David Wilkinson on New Atheism, Abdullah Sahin on Islam and Democracy, Jeff Astley on non-cognitive theories of morality, and Dan Moulin-Stozek on religious experience through art.

Students and teachers can find all past editions of Challenging Religious Issues on the St Mary’s Centre website here.  All editions of the journal published from autumn 2017 onwards can also be found on the St Peter’s Saltley Trust website here.

If you have an academic/research specialism related to some aspect of the A-Level RS syllabus, and can write in an accessible way for an A-Level student audience, you could offer an article.  Proposals can be sent to Tania ap Sion or Ian Jones.
